The new standard, ISO 8000; defines the characteristics of quality as they are applied to data and identifies how the quality of data can be objectively measured. Unlike many published books on data quality, the standard represents the consensus of international experts who have been in this field for 20+ years.

  • Master Data managers responsible for the quality of SAP, Oracle or other ERP vendor, item or service masters to include the development of short and long descriptions

  • Maintenance planners and plant managers as well as their commodity managers

  • Purchasing personnel responsible for sourcing and contracts

  • Designers managing parts standardization programs

  • IT managers responsible for data integration and data portability

Course Outline

9:00am – 12:00pm Theory

  • NATO codification system as the foundation for the eOTD, ISO 22745 and ISO 8000

  • Creating a metadata registry

  • Developing data requirement statement

  • Measuring data quality

  • Researching and requesting missing data

  • Developing rules for descriptions.

1:00pm – 4:00pm Practice

Attendees will use the internet and laptop to access the ECCMA certification website to:

  • Develop an eOTD-i-xml Identification Guide

  • Create an eOTD-q-xml request for characteristic or reference data

  • Create on eOTD-r-xml reply to a request for data

Qualifications to Receive Certificate

Individual (MDQM™):

  • Create master data requirement statements as Identification Guides in eOTD-i-xml

  • Generate queries for master data in eOTD-q-xml

  • Reply to queries for master data in eOTD-r-xml

Company/Organization (QMDP™):

  • Send master data in eOTD-r-xml

  • Generate queries in eOTD-q-xml

  • Respond to queries using eOTD-r-xml

  • Develop and publish data requirements in eOTD-i-xml

  • Validate master data in eOTD-r-xml for compliance with data requirements in eOTD-i-xml

*Please note these certificates need to be renewed each year. Expiration date will be on your certificate.
